Corporate Controller

$150,000 - $200,000 BASE

The Role:

Manage a corporate finance team of approximately ten personnel responsible for bank-wide accounting, internal and external financial reporting, income taxation, and merchant services clearance and settlement functions and who will report directly to the Chief Financial Officer.

Job  Description:

  • Accounting responsibilities include Corporate and Accounting Operations, Compensation, Capitalized software, Treasury and investments, Lending and credit risk, and Merchant Services accounting and operations.
  • Serve as the accounting policy resource for the organization which includes US GAAP compliance and bank regulatory financial reporting (i.e. Call Reporting requirements).
  • Responsible for all processes and internal controls over financial reporting as well as the respective documentation.
  • Responsible for all external financial reporting to investors, taxing authorities, and bank regulators including SEC quarterly and annual reports, annual proxy, earnings release, income tax returns and estimates, Call reports (FFIEC 051), Deposit reporting (FR Y-2900Q); and other periodic bank regulatory reporting (FR Y-6/8/9/10).
  • Responsible for all internal financial reporting which includes management reporting, budgeting and forecasting, and board level reporting.
  • Lead and manage the implementation, enhancement, and / or automation of accounting processes such as new products, US GAAP pronouncements, budgeting and forecasting, and other core accounting processes.
  • Primary finance liaison with other internal departments within the firm (e.g. Lending, Merchant Services, Risk Management, Compliance, Sales, Retail Branch).
  • Primary liaison with internal and external auditors and responsible for the coordination of year end audits and interim reviews.

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; CPA required
  • Experience with FISERV Signature and FISERV Prologue general ledger and subledger products a plus
  • Strong interpersonal and team-management skills required
  • Articulate with excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and work in a fast-paced environment
