Opportunity is a role in the Firm’s expense management and accounting team. Two analysts will report up this Operations Accounting Senior.

Job  Description:

  • Opportunity is a role in the Firm’s expense management and accounting team. Two analysts will report up this position. The role will have responsibilities including, but not limited too:
  • Manage the global expense allocation/compliance function across the Firm’s managed funds and deals.
  • Review and analyze Fund governing documents to determine chargeability of operating expenses for each managed fund to ensure compliance with fund terms and Firm policies.
  • Coordinate with various business groups to analyze nature of expenses to establish beneficiaries of services for purposes of allocation. Establish allocation methodologies and allocation calculations commensurate with service usage.
  • Liaise with fund accounting groups to analyze fund specific operating terms and assist with drafting of new funds documents for operating expenses terms.
  • Review recurring standard allocation sets and high volume of vendor specific prepared by analysts and coordinate approvals by fund accounting groups.
  • Assist in coordination of/preparation for Firm Expense Committee meetings and agenda topics.
  • Coordinate with Accounts Payable group to validate fund allocable invoices prior to payment to ensure appropriate coding and application of fund allocations sets.
  • Assist Accounts Receivable team with fund expense reimbursement billing process
  • Implement and maintain robust policy documentation of expense allocation policies, expense committee decisions and expense calculation methodologies.
  • Contribute to establishment of group process decisions and implementation of best practices. Implement procedural reference documentation for key group processes.
  • Lead implementation a new fund accrual estimate process.
  • Participate in the Firm’s annual expense budget process including expense budgeting and allocation inputs and reviews.
  • Participate in in various aspects of monthly Firm accounting close and related reporting with the financial reporting team.
  • Assist financial reporting team in various aspects of budget to actual result reporting.
  • Assist implementation and ongoing maintenance of a new expense allocation application.
  • Assist in group wide projects including transition of general ledger system and FP&A modeling application.

Required Skills:

  • 4-8 year mix of public accounting and/or fund accounting experience
  • Accounting Major required; CPA preferred
  • Experience in asset management and/or private equity industries
  • Comfortable working in a fast paced, high volume environment
  • Ability to understand, adhere to, enforce and apply company policies and procedures
  • Attention to detail and follow-up, analytical acumen and excellent organizational skills with the ability to handle and prioritize multiple and competing priorities
  • Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment
  • Ability to establish and execute against deadlines
  • Works well autonomously and as a team player
  • Advance Excel skills, experience working with accounting and other systems
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Flexibility and willingness to embrace change
