Operations Analyst, Asset Servicing Mandatory Team

The Role:

The Asset Servicing team is responsible for managing the lifecycle of a corporate action event, enterprise- wide across this firm.

Job  Description:

  • Understand mechanics surrounding Mandatory Corporate Action events for US, Canada, LatAm, EMEA and APAC securities as well as global income events
  • Perform key reconciliation and control tasks to support processing of the corporate action lifecycle and break management
  • Identify and manage risk within the events and processes through the appropriate application of procedural requirements and adherence to audit and control policies
  • Manage events in various Asset Servicing and vendor platforms; appropriately escalating issues to team management
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal business partners and external parties related to the process, including following up with depositories and agents for missing corporate action information
  • Identify process improvements, shortfalls, and control gaps, and work with the management team to propose effective solutions while understanding the firm’s strategic business initiatives
  • Communicate appropriately with internal business partners, desks and external parties regarding the day to day processing
  • Achieve operating efficiency and a high level of productivity
  • Operate with high ethical standards and a mindset of flawless execution
  • Participate in compliance related procedures and controls activities
  • Demonstrate the ability to interact within a team environment while also contributing on an individual level

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree with a cumulative GPA of 3.5+ or equivalent grade
  • Minimum of 3 or more years of professional experience in financial services, with working knowledge of financial products and instruments
  • Possess a base understanding of fixed income and equities products and the trade lifecycle
  • Industry experience and knowledge of Corporate Actions processing preferred
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organization skills; ability to communicate effectively
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Demonstrated risk awareness/management and pro-active in identifying and resolving potential problems before they arise
  • Must be able to work in a high-pressure environment, with conflicting demands and under tight deadlines, as part of a team, and be self-motivated
  • Excellent critical thinking and analytical skills with proven reconciliation abilities
  • Proven record of accuracy and effective time management and prioritization skills with the ability to work in multiple systems and handle high e-mail and event volumes
  • Contribute to the execution of the team and organization s strategy
  • Proven track record of taking initiative and implementing innovative solutions
  • Experience with workflow tools (e.g. Jira) and reporting tools (e.g. Power BI) preferred
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with multiple stakeholders
  • Very strong attention to detail, with an interest in process design and automation
  • Knowledge of differences between buy and sell side within the corporate actions world preferred
