Basic Function: The ACH Analyst, working in a team environment, is responsible for the daily tasks of underwriting and risk monitoring of the Bank’s ACH program related to merchants, ISOs, Third-Party Senders and Originator accounts.
Reporting to the ACH Manager, the Analyst resolves client inquiries with an emphasis on client satisfaction and problem resolution; establishes and maintains rapport with clients to provide the best possible service; recommends and provides feedback for improvements to processes and procedures.
Principle Responsibilities:
Assist with daily reconciliation activities and balancing.
Assist in maintaining portfolio’s ACH Return Rate Ratios below Nacha thresholds.
Perform the underwriting process upon receiving new ACH applications from ISOs and Third-Party Senders.
Collecting and maintaining documentation to support compliance with the ACH Credit Policy.
Track and follow up on status of all pending accounts and documentation while maintaining a pending application pipeline log.
Assist with maintaining accurate and updated ACH procedures.
Request, monitor and track Proof of Authorizations (POAs) from ISOs and Third-Party Senders.
Assist with creating monthly invoices for ACH clients.
Assist in the creation of reports detailing the daily and monthly statistical information of ACH volumes as well as providing various reporting to management.
Assist with performing risk reviews and tracking of Originators/Third-Party Sender activity utilizing risk systems and related reports.
Ensure ACH activities are an accurate representation of merchant’s business model and communicate all exceptions to ISO and escalate to management when needed.
Assist to monitor, actively manage and report all ACH risk and compliance issues, breaches, and suspicious activities in adherence to Bank and ACH policy.
Ensure that all activities are performed in compliance with federal, state and BSA regulatory requirements.
Assist in coaching and supporting merchants/Originators in identifying, establishing, and implementing best practices to achieve compliance with Nacha rules and as required perform on site reviews.
Assist to request, collect and review annual ACH compliance audits from clients.
Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
Ensure that all activities are performed in compliance with industry, Federal, State and Bank Secrecy Act regulatory requirements.
Background & Experience:
Minimum 2 years experience in ACH processing, underwriting and risk management.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
Excellent client relation skills.
Developed organization, teamwork, and time management skills.
Prior experience using Fiserv Signature or EFTBop platforms are helpful but not required.
Ability to prioritize tasks in order to meet deadlines.
Must be willing to learn specialized banking regulations and work with various bank and PC systems.
Excellent communication skills to support explaining complex ACH processes to clients.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong attention to detail and the ability to multi-task.
Experience in analyzing financial statements.
BA or BS in business or equivalent experience preferred.
