A real estate private equity fund with several billion dollars under management is seeking to hire a Senior Fund Accountant to work alongside the CFO to perform the finance and accounting responsibilities for the firm which has 4 closed ended real estate funds. This person will also work closely with the fund administrator, auditors, and tax preparers. This candidate will have daily interaction with the acquisition team, investor relations team and the managing partners of the firm.
Responsibilities:
Review of quarterly financials produced by the Fund Administrator to ensure complete and accurate books and records
Track daily cash flows from/to real estate investments
Manage investor data and reporting in Cross Lake’s Investor portal
Prepare/review investor quarterly capital statements
Prepare/review capital call and distribution calculations
Calculate management fees and carried interest
Coordinate the annual audit process with Big Four audit firm
Prepare investor reporting requests including audit confirmations, fund performance, and investor questionnaires
Complete lender reporting request for leveraged real estate investments and track deadlines
Prepare construction loan draws for the build to rent investments under development
Prepare borrowing requests, quarterly lender reporting, and tracking outstanding balances for the fund level subscription line/credit facility
Assist with cash operations: prepare/review wire transfers while complying with cash controls
Exposure to the automated payment processing system used for paying deal level expenses (Concur/SAP)
Assist with tracking and review tax returns/tax filings prepared by CPA firm
Review deal level quarterly financial reports prepared by JV Partners for completeness and accuracy
Qualifications:
3 to 5 years of relevant experience
Public accounting with exposure to fund accounting and real estate
Private equity firm
Fund administrator with real estate fund experience
Bachelor’s degree with a major in accounting
Initiative-taker with ability to multi-task and work well under pressure with energy and enthusiasm
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Experience with Microsoft office
Ability to meet and manage deadlines and display organizational skills
Team player and willing to work on a wide range of tasks
CPA license preferred
