Tax Accountant

Client is hiring a Tax Accountant in its Stamford, CT office. This position will assist the existing tax team with various accounting functions required from a tax perspective including calculations of tax provisions, deferred tax positions, effective tax rate, etc. You would have the opportunity to work collaboratively with the existing tax team as well as cross-functionally with other groups within the finance organization.




  • Lead the current and deferred tax calculation process, managing the preparation, review and audit of IFRS and local GAAP tax disclosures in the consolidated and local statutory accounts.

  • Manage the tax depreciation of the fixed asset register and the booking of journals specific to the tax ledger.

  • Lead the preparation of the quarterly global tax provision in order to appropriately report the global effective tax rate on the financial statements.

  • Lead the determination and documentation of uncertain tax positions, related journal entries and review of tax account reconciliations.

  • Assist with the preparation of monthly transfer pricing calculations and the associated accounting entries involved.

  • Manage the withholding tax compliance process and ensure that capital is deployed efficiently to minimize withholding tax where possible.

  • Preparation and review of tax accounting journals.

  • Responsible for reconciliation of both direct and indirect tax payments.

  • Assist with the review of taxes by the external auditors.

  • Work collaboratively within the Tax team, assisting in other areas where necessary.

  • Assist with merger and acquisition activities and related tax due diligence efforts.

  • Assist in the development of Corporate Accounting policies and internal controls.

  • Assist with audits of financial statements.




  • 2-5 years of relevant Tax Accounting experience in public accounting or industry.

  • CPA License strongly preferred.

  • Strong excel skills-comfortable with complex formulas, strong understanding of the basics of macros, VBA & pivot tables.

  • Domestic & International Tax  accounting experience.

  • Familiarity with SAP is preferred.

  • Prior experience with Power Automate and Alteryx preferred.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
