Our New York office is looking for an excellent database developer to lead the development of the data platform: processes, integrations and database functionality in support of the rapidly evolving Private Markets business. The developer will work closely with business and technology teams to design, develop, unit test and support critical applications as part of the technology and business roadmap, and to support existing applications and business processes.
The NB Alternative Investments business includes all significant strategies in private equity and credit as well as other Private Market products such as Funds of Hedge Funds, Consumer Brands.
Responsibilities:
Lead a team of 2-3 developers in designing and developing solutions for the Alternative business
Responsible for architecture, solution design and implementation
Collaborate with other team members within the group and across technology in particular, the central Data Platform team, to implement the technology road map
Provide analytical and development support for data processes
Ensure the long-term reliability, scalability, and maintainability of systems
Participate in and contribute to the development community within NB
Requirements:
Must demonstrate strong tech lead experiences including conducting technical design, product delivery, and resource management skill
10+ years of software development including full SDLC and Agile development experiences
Strong understanding & experience of relational databases and data structures in Microsoft SQL/Server (2016+)
Asset Management or Financial Services experience required, Private Markets experience a plus
Experience with database and server infrastructure and design a plus
Experience with programming languages like .Net, Python or JavaScript a plus
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Strong oral and written communication skills; strong interpersonal skills
