Our client is a $2 Billion Dollar + Hedge Fund. They are seeking to hire a Head of Investor Relations who, working directly with the CEO and Head of Sales, will play a leadership role in all aspects of the Firm’s efforts to engage with investors and prospects.

The firm is at a key inflection point as its funds reach the 3-year track record milestone with anticipation of meaningful external capital raising and an expansion of the existing investor base. The Head of IR, as such, will be in an opportune position to develop a best-in-class client service and investor relations practice within the Firm, building a team and leveraging data, systems and software tools to allow for lean but highly effective execution of all critical investor-related functions.

Broadly, responsibilities of the Investor Relations group include all client communication and information delivery ranging from the preparation of investor reports and letters to custom document requests, due diligence questionnaires, marketing materials and fund pitch books. The candidate and their team will actively collaborate with portfolio managers, sales, risk, operations, and compliance teams internally as well as engage with external investors on a regular basis, owning work streams and applying a problem-solving lens to address investor requests. Wearing multiple hats, the candidate will play an integral part in ongoing fundraising initiatives and take ownership over the further development of a robust, scalable Investor Relations practice.

Role Responsibilities

  • Grow a best-in-class Investor Relations practice within a lean but complex organization
  • Manage prospective investor due diligence processes, RFP’s and RFI’s
  • Prepare external investor communications including fact sheets, investor letters, attribution and risk reporting
  • Assist in enhancement of existing pitch books and development of new product marketing materials
  • Contribute to the development of a best-in-class, scalable relationship management practice beginning with the seamless onboarding of new clients, to timely delivery of investor reports and management of regular outreach and communication with institutional clients
  • Collaborate closely with various teams throughout the organization to manage the writing of RFP’s, responding to bespoke requests and development of marketing materials and analysis
  •  Maintain and enrich CRM of existing and prospective investor data, reporting internally on pipeline and capital activity across funds and geographies

Desired Skills & Experience:

  • 10+ years of relevant financial services experience; 5+ years in a senior IR/Marketing role
  • Series 7, 63 licenses preferred
  • Proficiency with SalesForce, Excel, PowerPoint, eVestment
  • Impeccable written and oral communication skills
  • Familiarity with 40Act and/or UCITS marketing standards and regulatory requirements
  • A strong track record of change management and process redesign
  • A customer service mindset, proactive and resourceful
  • Action oriented, self-motivated and self-directed; able to collaborate and work independently
